| MINUTES OF THE MANAGING COMMITTEE MEETING OF KCS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (WOMEN) HELD ON FRIDAY, 25TH SEPT, 2009 AT 3.30 PM |
The members of Managing Committee were welcomed by the Chairperson, Mrs. Purnima Chaudhri.
A. Tabled for Information
(i) Minutes of the previous Meeting of the Managing Committee held on 23rd April 2008.
(ii) Additions to the College since the last meeting
Following additions were shown and explained to the members through a Presentation given by Mrs. Sunita Kumari, Lecturer of the College:
. Improvement in Infrastructure by adding 11000 sq. ft. area.
. ICT and Technology uptgradation by raising the no. of Computers from 21 to 65 with UPS.
. Addition of 5 E-class rooms with 46" LCD Monitors and Multimedia Projector.
. Establishment of Language-Lab.
. Wi Fi facility in the College Campus.
. Upgradation of Psychology-Lab.
. Upgradation of Science - Lab.
. Automation of Library with DELNET and ILL facility and addition of a Reading Room for 75 students.
. Improvement in Sports facilities by addition of indoor games like Table-Tennis and hard court for Badminton.
. Improvement in Recreational facilities in the Canteen and Hostel Dining Hall with the provision of colour TV and TATA-SKY connection.
. Provision of Seed Capital and Study Leave for the staff wishing to pursue Research.
. Improvement in the Professional Devolopment Programmes Attended by the staff. (List attached).
. Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report by the Internal Quality Assuarance Cell of the College (IQAC).
. Strengthening of Linkages/Collaborations at Local, National, and International
. Historical Data of the College (List attached)
(iii) Minutes of the Selection Committee Meeting for the selection of the Principal (List attached).
(iv) Minutes of the Selection Committee Meeting for the selection of 7 staff members (List attached)
(v) College and Hostel Prospectus for 2008-2009.
(vi) Annual Performance Appraisal Reports of the Staff.
(vii) Placement of three staff members in Sr. Lecturer Pay Scale on completion of 8 years.
A1. Apart from hard copies of all the documents listed above, a copy each of the following was also given to the members of tea managing Committee:
. College News Letter, April 2009 issue.
. Alumni Association News Letter for 2009.
. College Magazine for 2008-2009.
. Annual Report for the Session 2008-2009.
B. ISSUES:
i) Managing Committee was requested to approve the Selection of the Principal and Staff.
ii) Staff members have to be pressed upon to improve their Qualifications like NET/SET/M.Phil./Ph.D.
iii) Casual Leave to be increased from 12 to 15 days from 1st of Dec. 2009 but the same should not be taken casually.
C. RECOMMENDATIONS:
i) Prof. M.R. Puri, Ex-Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu suggested to give some financial support to the most needy and downtrodden students. However he was apprised that some of the needy students are given financial support in the shape of Hostel concession.
ii) Prof. Puri further suggested that in future meetings, Plan of the College should be tabled for approval. It was however pointed out that since Managing Committee Meetings are held once a Year so most Plans are approved through other Meetings.
iii) Chairperson stressed that more emphasis is required on co-curricular activities for harmonious development of the students.
D. APPRECIATIONS:
i) NAAC was invited for Re-Assessment on 24th, 25th , & 26th of Aug. 2009.
ii) Upgraded Certificate of Registration "Moody International ISO 9001:2008" dated 16th June 2009, as ISO 9001:2000 is now obsolete.
iii) Activation of M.Ed. from 2009-2010. |
